Data Recovery — Deleted Files, Failed Drives, Formatted Disks
Realistic advice first: what's recoverable in-house, and when to stop before you make it worse.
Symptoms we see
- You deleted a folder you didn't mean to
- The drive won't mount
- 'Format the disk in drive X:' prompt
- A dropped external hard drive is clicking
Common causes
- Logical deletion — usually recoverable
- Corrupt partition table — often recoverable
- Physical head failure — a clean-room specialist, not a software tool
- SSD controller failure — often unrecoverable, hence backups
How we approach it
First: stop using the drive. We image the disk with ddrescue before any recovery attempt runs on the copy, so we never make things worse. For mechanical failures we refer to a UK-based clean-room lab we trust — no commission, no upsell.
What you get
Straight answer on what's coming back and a plan you understand before spending a penny on lab work.
