Printer Shows Offline in Windows 11 (Even Though It's On)
The 'Offline' status is almost never a printer problem. It's Windows caching an old IP address. Here's the proper fix, not another reinstall.

Symptoms
- Printer works from phones and other laptops, but shows Offline on Windows
- Print jobs sit in the queue forever
- The printer reappears when you power-cycle it, then drops again
Likely causes
- The printer's IP address changed after your router rebooted
- Windows saved a stale IP in the printer port
- 'Use Printer Offline' has toggled on by itself
- SNMP status query timing out on some models
Step-by-step fix

Print the printer's Network Configuration page
Every printer has a menu option to print its own network settings. Note the current IPv4 address — this is our source of truth.

Reserve that IP address in your router
Log into your router's admin page (usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.254), find the printer's MAC address in the DHCP client list, and add a static lease. Now the printer keeps the same IP even after a reboot.

Fix the port on Windows
Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners → your printer → Printer properties → Ports. Find the current port, click Configure Port, and set the IP to the one you just reserved. Untick SNMP status if it's ticked.

Turn off 'Use Printer Offline'
Same printer → Open print queue → Printer menu → make sure 'Use Printer Offline' is NOT ticked. On some HP models it's ticked itself.
